Black & Decker maintains its #1 position; Samsung moves into 2nd and is poised for taking the lead

September 02, 2008

The top company in the Consumer Products Patent Scorecard remains Black & Decker (Towson, Maryland, USA), however less than 10 points separate it from 2nd ranked Samsung Group (Seoul, South Korea). Black & Decker operates three business segments: Power Tools and Accessories, Hardware and Home Improvement, and Fastening & Assembly Systems under such brands as DEWALT, Black & Decker, Price Pfister, Kwikset, and Dustbuster.
